Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a virus that causes cervical cancer in women and genital warts in men and women. It provides protection against the common strains of HPV that are responsible for most cervical cancer and genital warts. 3 doses of the vaccine are required to acquire immunity against the common HPV virus.
