When to Call for an Ambulance

Call for emergency ambulance assistance if:

  1. There are signs of a potentially life-threatening condition
(e.g. chest pain may indicate a heart attack, sudden one-sided weakness may suggest a stroke)
  2. The patient has injuries that may worsen with movement or is unable to move
(e.g. suspected spinal, neck, or major limb injuries)

If the condition is urgent but not life-threatening, administer basic first aid if possible and bring the patient to our 24-hour Emergency Department for further care.
